The drawings are sold as both black and white originals and as limited print editions.

Large pieces range to 12' long but are mostly around 3' x 5'; smaller peices are around 16" x 20". Large originals range from $3000 to $12,000 and smaller originals are $800 to $3000. Garden scenes are more expensive than the big flowers, as they take considerably more time; and originals cost more than prints thereof.

Prints of originals come in several sizes and colors and range from $350 to $2700; proof prints of editions may be had for less.

A print edition is usually small—10–20 prints, sometimes 50– and the edition goes up in price as it runs out.

It is beyond doubt one of my greatest pleasures to stand outdoors drawing, galvanized by the purpose of snaring a huge, lush, metamorphosing world in the noose of a small pencil—especially for a client who is as over-the-top in love with flowers as I am, and has the good fortune to indulge this love in a garden.

If you are interested in having a location drawn, a first step would be to contact me by e-mail or phone. We would meet there to look at the location and discuss what time of year it would be drawn. I draw in all seasons. We would agree generally on a size, and then, with a deposit of one half of the estimated price, I would schedule it on my calendar.

As I paint from life, not from photographs, I need to actually be on location over the course of about a month. Usually, I will not release the drawing for delivery for another month. The balance of payment is due upon delivery of the drawing.

Travelling far afield to do a commission is welcomed.

I accept personal checks, which must clear before a commission is begun or work shipped. I am hoping to have a secure on-line order form for credit cards soon.

With existing work, I will do staged payment plans in some cases. With a commission, I charge half down and half upon completion.

Occasionally I will bring a piece to you so you can see what it looks like in a particular setting, if you have a reasonable commitment to buy something. I drive from Boston to New York with some frequency, so I might do this for you if you live somewhere near this route.

A car can be bigger than you think—you might be able to pick up a framed piece yourself. A framed piece at 3' x 7' actually fits in my 1998 Saab sedan with the back seat down, without obscuring vision. Much of this work, however, rolls up for shipping.

Framed images under 30"x 40", as well as unframed images under 30" x 40" that cannot be rolled are shipped packed with a hard protective covering like foam core, then corner guards and bubble wrap . UPS ground rate from, say, Boston to L.A. would cost in the neighborhood of $50 to $125, which includes insurance and handling, and take about a week.

Unframed work that can be rolled is put in a strong tube with protective tissue, and includes mounting, framing, and hanging instructions. I usually ship these FedEx 2nd day. Costs vary.
A 3' x 7' piece shipped from Boston to L.A. comes to around $40, including insurance and handling; the same piece shipped to London in the U.K. comes to around $100 and takes 4 to 5 days by international economy rate.

Larger framed work is shipped through a professional art shipping company, which will ship most anywhere in the world. I prepare the pieces for further professional packing by wrapping them in stiff cardboard and bubble wrap. The shipper picks the work up at my studio, then crates and ships it from a central facility. I have the shipper contact the client with a quote, and the shipping contract is with the client. Shipping costs for larger work within the continental U.S. has generally varied from $300 to $700.

Please note that work shipped abroad may incur an export tax.
